Promo, Photo-shoot & (Tumblr) Pissing me off..

Last time I wrote, we were about to have our first promo event at SRM University, Chennai. It’s been long since then and I wanna kill myself for not writing for almost a month. Anyways, now that I am writing, let me tell you what this post is all about. I would be sharing stuff about the promo event and our photo-shoot, because, these are the couple of things we have done other than promoting our facebook page (go like this page and suggest to your friends too) and brainstorming over our next product (custom laptop skins, stickers et al……your suggestions please).

SRM Promo event:

Like I mentioned before, we did a little something at SRM campus (Precisely Java Green) with the help of our buddies  there(Varun, Manjul, Pranav, Harshita, Emcee Gauri, Emcee Varun, Junaid, Avinash, Aditya, Vinayak, Prateek, Pawan, Apoorv, Sumedha, Pallav and many others). What we basically did was, we organized small fun games (now don’t ask me the names, too bad with them) for everyone & gave away Printbooth goodies to the winners. The participants also got the all-important Printhbooth discount vouchers & we made sure everyone went back with a smile on their beautiful faces. After all, this is what we wanted….. To make this a pleasant experience for them so that they remember us and talk about us (I know that’s too mean; but who minds a few extra eyeballs).  We discovered something new that day, that our Emcee Varun had some real hidden talent. He is too good in what he does and we are sure he’s there to stay. Way to go man!

The event went on till 9 PM and yes, we had to bribe the security person & sponsor his dinner to let us continue that long. We didn’t mind, because with great music and great people, it was all worth it.

Social Collage photo-shoot:

For once we thought the website was perfect, and, the next moment we know, it isn’t. We were missing something….. We know how a Social collage looks but that’s not the case with you smart guys out there because you have never seen it. Therefore, we wanted to put a picture that showcases what a real Social collage looks like with real people in it & with real expressions & emotions. It’s not the same ordinary poster that you find at every other place which are typically laced with pictures of sick size zero models or wannabe Salmans flashing their non-existent six packs. This poster is unique because it has pictures of people you know and are connected to. And, when you place this Poster (a 24”X36” poster) on a wall or on a door in your room, it liven ups the complete place with its aura. So, basically the new photo will help you in visualizing how this poster is exactly going to look like and how big is its size compared to a mortal being (in this case, Sruti).

We did the shoot in our college campus with Sruti as our model. She was gracious enough to participate considering she had her exams the very same day. Add to that the master photography by Vaibhav and we got exactly what we were looking for.

This collage of the photo-shoot reveals that, I was in no way going to pass on this chance of being shot by Vaibhav’s SLR & same was the case with Rahul & Kunal. We all had our moments and Vaibhav captured them to perfection. In the end, what we had was the original Social collage photographs that we wanted  plus a supply of two months worth of facebook profile pictures for the Co-founders (:-P kidding)…

Ahh, it’s some serious effort to try to remember everything and then pen them down (or tumblr them down) like this. That too, I am writing the whole thing again just because my stupid browser crashed, wasting my entire work and pissing me off for the whole night. For once, I thought I am gonna sue them and then I decided I am not gonna open this tumblr thingy ever again. But here I am, the very next day, posting on tumblr…… because life’s too short to keep fighting, it’s always better to stick along and go with the flow. Coming from a naïve mind, that was too much of philosophy I guess. So, I am going to leave it there and carry on with such sweet-bitter encounters in life.

Probably, the next blog will be about why you should buy with us at Printbooth.in and not the other more experienced players out there. See ya soon…   Till then, carry on jaani :)
